Kenyan Safari

I was almost leaving Africa without having seen a single safari. I had spent a month in Nigeria at my cousin's place and I had very little money left with me. However there was thing lingering thought that there was very little chance of me coming to this part of the world again and considering how much I had spent to reach there and the time and effort that went along with it, I decided that I wouldn't let go of this opportunity. So I borrowed money from my uncle to experience what I had missed out on, even after traveling for three weeks in Tanzania.

Cheetah

From YMCA, Nairobi I got picked up by my travel company for a two day/night trip to see the famous Masai Mara. The Masai is the Kenyan part of Serengeti National Reserve and it was my last chance to see the big 5, all in a single place of 100-120 sq kms.

Gazelles
Zebras

Baby Jumbo & Evening Walk

Having seen a few zoos in India, I wasn't as keen as my partners (a Norwegian guy and his sister) to see the lions. But the next two days sure got me keen to see and enjoy wildlife more than I have ever been.

Boar in Hotel Keekorok
GIRAFFES ... cheetahs, hippos ... the majestic Elephant walk in the sunset, zebras, gazelles. a million african bulls grazing peacefully very close to a pride of lions waiting to attack, but scared to go headon considering how badly they were outnumbered.
African Bull & Hippopatumus
The sight of giraffes sprinting uninhibitedly in the wide open fields and the sights and sounds of the african landscape at twilight would be two pictures which I would always remember.
